Thanks Norway. A great piece of precision marching & display. Very much appreciated. And remember as Abe Lincoln said just before he cut down that pear tree... You can entertain all of the people some of the time, and all of the people who haven't taken their medication & who don't use their spell checkers all of the time, but leading a horse to water can be a nightmare. This brings back many memories. I served in His Majesty The King's Guards as well, but in 1st company and not 3rd (drill and band). I remember all the parades we did in Oslo with these guys, the parades would not be the same without them!! Impressive that they get THIS good with just 1 year of mandatory service. And these guys (and some girls) are between 18-22 years old in average. Thumps up!

They notes are actually A-flat (concert) and B-flat (concert). I've played all the trumpet parts to this piece quite a few times. But agreed, something isn't right. He/she hit the notes, but their articulation and timing was off, that's all - so it seems somewhat out of place.

Awesome march indeed. This is the Royal Marines from their album "Land of Hope and Glory". The tuning, the length of the track, the balance and even little mistakes are exactly the same as the recording I purchased off of itunes. The most telling thing is at 2:26-27 when the 1st trumpet doesn't quite hit those high C's and D's cleanly. Plus, HMKG use glockenspiel, but the Royal Marines don't. It's not HMKG here, but I know they've done this piece well each and every year it's chosen.

Sant det. Tempo varierte nok en del fra fremføring til fremføring. Fikk nok tilbakemeld på at den gikk litt for fort de gangene tenker jeg. Dette opptaket er fra CDen. Men som jeg leser litt nedenfor så er jo tolkning av musikk en underlig ting. Dirigenten holdt den nede da han mente den hørtes best ut slik. Dessuten var det ingen vits å øke tempoet bare på CDen.

We saw these guys in 2005 at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in August. They were THE BEST group... so impressive! I will always remember watching them. During OUR show, however, there was a dropped rifle! I know.. hard to believe but they made it seem a part of the show. VERY professional performers! LOVE THEM!

this friend of me also told me that the bundeswehr would be really nothing compared to other armies like the american or french or norwegian or british (okay...nearly every army -.-) which backs the fact that the bundeswehr wheter is a army nor is a militia...which is very irritating to me. a sad but true fact. for my german side in me. or just a simple fact for my korean side in me. well...it is idly to start a fight about true facts....*sob* 5 stars for HMKG!!!!

the bundeswehr has been only founded to stop soviet troops if the udssr would have ever attacked the free world until (i am now qoting an old friend of my family who studied the history of the bundeswehr very very well, also a former member of the bundswehr) a real army would appear to begin the real fight with the udssr (like the french, britsh or ofcourse!! the american army).

well my dear german friend, i believe that you are totally right when you are saying that our dear norwegian friends are far better than our german drill teams. and yes. we would be called nazis if we would do this. and i believe for myself that our bundeswehr has not the right to exist, according to the actual right constitution of germany.
