The best interpretation I can put onto this is that it's an inner struggle between spirituality and the physical, concrete world. Parabola and parable are used interchangeably to this effect, a parabola being a graph formed through the usage of Phi, the sacred proportion. I'm not a particular fan of Tool, I knew of their presence when I heard their infamous lead single of their debut album "Undertow" known as "Sober". Bought the album picked off a few decent tracks and listened to this and "The Patient" off "Lateralus" and found these specific songs soothing, in their dark, gloomy atmospheric ways. Meditative specifically in comparison to the band's previous work and like them individually as songs.

@Televisionaer yess my friend neurology is my major. dmt and 5-meo dmt are also awesome drugs to use recreational ive used them for a while. sometimes in the morning down by the lake i will smoke dmt and it seems to calm me and bring a little peace to my day after the trip go away (5min). i dont know if your heard of a dream machine or w.i.l.d but look them up theres other ways to naturally stimulate alpha brain waves and possibly dmt within the brain to get visuals
