I graduated from high school last year and one thing that I noticed was that "Dare you to move" was playing regularly for the class bell. This is great because Swtichfoot's songs usually ask questions that can only be answered fully if the listener knows Jesus, and if they don't then the song gets them thinking in that general direction. I would consider them a christian-philosophical band.

The reason you can't see him as the bad guy is because he is not the bad guy. Javert is an antagonist, but not evil and clearly not "bad". Javert is merely rigid in both the book and the musical, despite their motivations varying greatly. Regardless, great performance by Philip Quast. Definitely my favorite.

Victor Hugo wrote him to be misguided, not evil (like the Thenadiers). he embodies the misdirection you can become when you try to be "too good." his values and judgement became so rock-solid over his lifetime that he lost sight of grey areas, like Valjean's righteousness in a life of sin. so its that sort f humanity he brings to the story plus amazing performances like this that make him so loved

tis a cult classic ^_^ the kind of movie you hate to love lol but you just can't help it. Its campy... the acting is silly and the story is crap... but the actors (loved Bowen and Draco and Kara) and the crew put so much work into it... the characters are just so appealing that you just can't help but wanna hug the movie and watch it to pieces lol
