What is this? I don't even... I'm trying to figure out if I'd enjoy this game and this trailer makes absolutely no sense. All it leaves me with are questions and not the "I am so intrigued I want to find out what this is all about!" kind of questions. I mean the "What the hell is even going on?" kind of questions.

Terribly unplayable on PC.I quit it at chapter 3,after I came to a dead end,dealing with 5 huge bugs simultaneously...& I'd allready overcame another 50 till then - I'm not talking about small bugs,like npc's without bodies walking around!!!!!,but for storyline bugs.And I used the latest patch...This could be a great game,but Piranha Bytes did it again,like Gothic 3 and even worse.At least Gothic 3 with all the flaws was somehow playable.Piranha blamed Jo Wood then,what do they have to say now??

Some ppl say that it too hardcore, that nobody tells you what to do, that you dont have no help there. Thats all because this is supposed to be realistic like medieval fantasy world, where you are droped, and its on you how you survive. Old school RPG, ppl who say that this game sux and is boring are idiots, they know absolutelly nothing about what is supposed to be good RPG. This is old school, primary based on Gothic 1, 2 , not 3. Gothic 3 was fucked up, easy as hell and full of bugs, thanks to "money-wanted" Jowood and their too quick release.

You should be worried about 1/3rd of your ratings being thumbs down and consider how you review games and how long you play them before you review them and also a bit more research as well. There was a time when games were only reviewed after they were finished, even cRPG's. Now, in the rush to get reviews out we see a much lower quality of reviews as reviewers play less and less of a game before giving their opinion.

I am totally sucked into Risen, I have to say that it is one of the best Rpgs that I have ever played, story is great, the world is amazing and i still haven't run out of things to do after 6 weeks with the game. Any person who focuses more on graphics than gameplay cannot be considered a gamer. And personally, I like the way the characters move their arms when talking.

How dare you compare this to fallout 3? Theres something a reviewer should know about games. HOE TO ENJOY THEM. You can't compare a game such as fallout 3 to Risen, when Fallout 3 OBVIOUSLY has major differences in not only the game and gameplay aspect. But also the target audience. Plus Risen didn't have close to the scale and budget of Fallout 3. So shut up. This review SUCKS. Risen is amazing. It's an amazing RPG if you take it for what it is, so Gamesweasel can suck it.

The elder scrols and gothic are completely 2 different productions there are to many differences like character customization, way which story is told, level-up system, conversations, mounts, climat, and much more actually we still have graphic but oblivion was released in 2006, 3 years near 4 thats really long vanish, but I agree risen should be named gothic 3, but like both games (I meand Tes&gothic, gothic 3 suck duck - -)

Because of this trailer I not only got Risen, but became a Nightwish fan, and by extension came to know all fo the bands I listen to now: Nightwish, Within Temptation, Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, etc. It really opened me up to a new world of music.

i love all the percussion in KMFDM songs. I know alot of it is samples but every sample is placed perfectly. They're not like other industrial bands, they don't just slap down some samples and call it a song, they actually work it out perfectly to keep it creative and tight.

Nothing to do with Oblivion. It's a successor to a series older than Morrowind, what's to say about Oblivion... The world is smaller and COMPLETELY hand-made, it's more story-driven and the story is interesting unlike in Oblivion, the combat and rpg systems are different... The devs have said which games have inspired them - their very own Gothic 1 and 2 and those old Ultima titles which I doubt you remember. It's like saying Gears of War copies Max Payne, seriously. Try the demo if you want.

Hmm this game looks cool only found this vid through the Nightwish official site and I thought a game trailer with NW music may as well take a look. Gnnnn... with quite a bit of the audience having played Gothic II and already heard The Poet and the Pendulum, the trailer somewhat feels "puzzled together". I would've used Folk Metal or something. Immediately, the Sacred II trailer comes to mind as competition. Against that one, which uses an original song and actually has the music fit in, this one really isn't too good. Though probably, Goth... errrrr Risen, sorry ;) is the better game.

I was a fan of Gothic series. Gothic 1 and 2 Night of the Raven were the best games I ever played, Piranha Bytes did an awesome job. Gothic 3 was a fail and its expansion was an epic fail once more. Risen has all the elements from the Gothic series and more I really love this game. Though I will never forget Gothic I can say that this game is far more better then Gothic. And when I say better I don't mean just graphics.

Risen wird echt gut :D ( Saschahomie ) steh sogar im handbuch :D Keine Frage das wird ein richtiges Gothic Aber auch Gothic3 hat mir gut gefallen, es war zwar anders aber es hatte trotzdem Gothic, nur verpackt in einer anderen Grafik und Story. Jedes Gebiet hatte so seine einge Art und Seele sozusagen, da könnt ich echt viel zu schreiben aber naja^^ Hoffe Risen wird echt die Mischung Gothic1 und 2 DNdR und natürlich den neuen Ideen wie ichs mir vorstelle :P

"Jesus Christ Is Risen Today" from the University of Notre Dame Basilica. It was the recessional hymn of the Mass of Ordination for my friend and former ND roommate, Gregory Haake, along with 3 other fellow ordained, on 4/14/07, the week after Easter (hence the seasonal hymn). Performed by the Notre Dame Liturgical Choir, it is perhaps the most powerful rendition of the hymn I've ever experienced.
