I think it is wrong to compare different eras in music. There is always good music available if you seek it out. The quality of music is not defined by the charts or what is deemed fashionable. Today, bands like Elbow, and Snow Patrol are making great music. But T.Rex were an amazing band whose legacy endures.

my jazz band did an arrangement that sounds like this verbatim, i followed along my chart and it worked. i played drums, and i truly loved every second of it because of the amount of solo opportunities in this.

your band must be terrible then ahah just mucking around same licks just trombones play some of the vocal lines and some are just left out different solo section too

Just to add another tid bit on this band, The main man, Billy Chase was an Italian American that completely tore it up, He played with Maynard Ferguson, Woody Herman, and Stan Kenton. In Chase there was Ted Piercefield, Alan Ware, and Jerry Van Blair. The cool thing about the band was that it was simply a rhythm section and the four trumpets! Amazing!

Chase is the best trmpoet band i ever heard it is a drama that they members died so fast based on this fucking plane and the fucking pilot. They were so amazing that god wants to here them. Hf in haeven Chase and pls rock god for me!

the group ceased to exist in 1974 when bill chase and 3 members of the group were killed in a plane crash in minnesota while going to a gig. the lead vocal on this is terry richards. chase was unique in that they used 4 trumpets in the group

we played this for our concert our jazz band there are only 2 trumpets but one was in abescence so i had to take over i was the only trumpet in th e jazz band its a very good song i even had my own solo

I think school Jazz Band arrangements are different. Ours sounds nothing like this. And other school Jazz Bands I've heard don't sound like this either.
