What I don't get is, while the camouflage was good, there was still a difference between the snake and the sand. If the lizard paid close attention, it should of noticed. The snake also waited a few seconds before striking.

Recommendation: I'm a visual designer as you are the king of venom. When recording, you should set your camera on manual and put your "F" (aprature) on F8 or above to capture everything in focus without having to rely on the autofocus feature. OR get a "macro" adapter which will help focus those up close shots we all love. I wish I could come show but I'm scared as hell of a house full of mass murderers! It's really difficult to ID a snake by common names. There're no real two steppers in the world, where your dead in two steps. You might collapse in a few steps due to a drop in blood pressure. The Sharp-nosed Pit viper & the Maylayan Pit Viper are serious customers from that part of the world. These two have the ability to knock you on your ass in short order.

Every venomous snake in South or Central America just about are called "Fer-DeLance" when there is only one species that really holds claim to that name. This is honestly my all time favorite video game (with The House Of The Dead 2 being a very close second), and it's a shame that Sega has still yet to port it to this day. I thankfully got around that by getting a Jamma arcade cabinet, as I have the PCB to this awesome game! It's still too bad that not many people know about, or have gotten to play this game, and Sega really needs to release it on virtual console, or include it in their next classic game compilation.

The best way to avoid snake attacks is to try not to piss them off but that's not always possible. I'd suggest completely wrapping yourself in aluminum foil before going into snake country. This will make the snake think you are a robot and probably not bite you. Attacks on robots make up less than 2% of all snake bite victims.

Back away very slowly unless you are within striking distance, then you should jump away quickly. Death adder venom is neurotoxic (causes paralysis) and can cause respiratory shutdown in as little as 6 hours, but it usually takes longer so do not panic if you get bitten. They can most definately kill you if you don't seek medical attention immediately.

Arithmetic and Trogonometry was so complex and time-consuming before calculators were invented. I built my first scientific calculator (it used reverse Polish logic) from a kit in about 1974 and boy was that a good investment! I got the drop on all the guys with slide rules and tables and I got to use it in my exams.I reckon it saved me about 20 minutes in a 3-hour exam and my results kicked serious butt. It meant left-brainers like me could do Engineering at last.

I once worked for an entomologist who had severe ragweed allergies, but had to go out in the field to collect boll weevils and robber flies for research. Why didn't he just get his students at the university to collect them? Because even though he couldn't breathe without serious amounts of Benedryl, he still needed to see where the insects were coming from, how heavy the population was in the area, etc. He didn't let allergies stop him either. Why should allergies stop Don from doing this?
